The Eurofoil® nebulizer

The technology behind it - and why the atomizer is key to the Danfoil concept

In brief

Eurofoil® is Danfoil's patented atomizer technology, where the spray liquid is mixed with air in the atomizer itself. The air flow breaks the liquid into droplets and gives them the energy and speed needed to hit the crop more accurately – even when the droplets are small.

  • The droplet size is primarily controlled by air pressure – not by the amount of water.
  • Low water volume (typically 30–50 l/ha) can provide high capacity and fewer stops.
  • Better penetration in dense crops because the air creates movement/turbulence in the plant.
  • Controlled drift because the droplets gain extra kinetic energy/speed.

How the technology works

In a conventional nozzle, the droplets are primarily formed by fluid pressure and nozzle geometry. With Eurofoil®, fluid and air are mixed, and it is the air flow that both atomizes and "carries" the droplets down towards the target. This allows for a combination of fine droplets and controllability because the droplets are given energy.

In practice, this means

  • You can work with the droplet spectrum by adjusting the air pressure.
  • You can keep the water volume low without "losing" the droplet spectrum, as long as the air pressure is correct.
  • The air helps to get the liquid down into the crop—at the top, middle, and bottom.
